Pour Over Coffee Maker

This is my series where we judge whether I really needed it or not. This time, the Roogaluckeep Stainless Steel Pour Over Coffee Dripper.
Did I need it?
No. I have a coffee maker. I have a French press. I did not need a third way to make coffee. But sometimes coffee maker coffee isn’t what I want, and sometimes I don’t want to deal with a French press, so now I have a pour over too. This was a want, not a need, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise.

I ordered this pour-over coffee maker in early June, and I’ve used it consistently since, so it’s not a one-and-done impulse buy gathering dust in a drawer. It’s earned its spot in the rotation.
Pros
- Washes easily, no scrubbing required
- Simple to use, no learning curve
- Reusable stainless steel mesh filter, no paper filters to buy or run out of
- Wide brim fits most standard coffee cups
- Compact, doesn’t take up much space
Cons
- The wide brim doesn’t fit every cup. If you have wider mugs, check the fit before you commit to a whole morning routine around this thing
- Works better with a finer coffee grind. If you’re using a rough grind, expect a less impressive result
Care tip
The manufacturer recommends rinsing it immediately after use to keep the mesh filter in good condition. Don’t let it sit in the sink with your other dishes until you feel like dealing with it later.
